OUR ENGINEERS
Gabriel F. Dambaugh, P.E.
President and Principal Partner
Mr. Dambaugh holds two degrees in Mechanical Engineering and has been in the industry since 1988.
He started his engineering career in the manufacturing environment with Robert Bosch then gained experience with product design and optimization, failure forensics, and analysis with Finite Element Methods during 13 years with Schaeffler Group. While Gabe has worked with the variety of FEA technologies as listed on the services page, some of his unique specialties include rolling bearings, using FEA with non-linear mechanical systems, and fatigue correlation. He has presented on the subject of fatigue assessment to the Finite Element community and holds a US patent regarding rolling bearing design optimization with FEA.

Zirong (Hank) Hu, Ph.D
Engineering Partner
After completing his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering in 1999 from Texas Tech University, Dr. Hu (Hank) worked as a primary CAE engineer for Daimler-Chrysler and Johnson Controls with a main focus on crashworthiness and vehicle dynamics. Later with Accuride Corporation and BAE Systems, he gained more experience with new product design and development involving a wide variety of simulation technologies for concept design development such as failure mode analysis, optimization, fatigue and reliability, structural dynamic responses, impact and crashworthiness. Hank has also been responsible for the implementation of conceptual designs including manufacturability, prototyping and testing to couple with CAE simulations.

William James Harrison, P.E.
Engineering Partner
While having a diverse background in the field of non-linear FEA techniques, Mr. Harrison (Jim) also has extensive experience using FEA and testing with bio-medical devices. One of his significant and unique experience bases is with analysis and testing of unique materials such as Nitinol, Polymers, and Cobalt-Chromium. In the industry prior to FEA consulting, Jim was Manager of Research and Development with Guidant Corporation – Vascular Intervention, and performed research level FEA for Smith & Nephew Orthopedics as well as United Technologies. Jim holds his MSME degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York.
